Istanbul braces for new round of flooding
Istanbul is bracing for another round of heavy rainfall on Oct. 27, with Türkiye’s meteorological authority warning of possible flash floods and inundations in the city and other parts of western Türkiye, less than two weeks after torrential downpours killed eight people in Istanbul and the neighboring province of Kocaeli.
How sure are we
Only one outlet so far: treat it as unconfirmed. That doesn’t make it false; it may be new, or an exclusive.
Who reported it
[Claude, second read] Rates it MEDIUM, not HIGH. Official flood warning for Istanbul and western Türkiye; a new event, but the summary cites no new deaths, and the prior downpours killed eight, which fits medi. Lowered from HIGH to MEDIUM.
